Thai yoga massage is an ancient healing art form that combines the best of acupressure from Thailand and Hatha yoga from India. Gentle rocking movements, deep rhythmic compressions, a variety of stretching movements and restorative yoga positions open the body's complex network of tissue and energy lines. Thai massage relieves muscular tension and pain, improves circulation, boosts the immune system, and balances the body energetically, facilitating mind-body integration. It will leave you feeling deeply relaxed, somatically nourished and restored.
Thai massage is traditionally performed on a thick padded mat on the floor using supportive pillows. As a recipient, you can expect to be completely relaxed while experiencing the effects of a yoga therapy session without having to exert any effort. Session length and focus can be customized to address a particular client's needs.
Lillee studied Thai yoga massage at the Lotus Palm School in Canada. She trained in both Thailand and Laos for month-long Thai massage intensives. She continues her studies with the College of Osteo Thai in France.
With specific instruction from Lillee, you can learn to deliver targeted self-massage trigger point therapy to your most painful and stubborn areas. Lillee teaches self-massage techniques using The Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls. The YTU Therapy Balls are made of a dense high grip rubber that kneads and compresses the many layers of muscle, fascia and connective tissue. Self-massage is a convenient and economical way to regularly counteract occupational or postural fatigue, warm and prepare your body for any workout or movement practice, or maintain the therapeutic effects of your Chandra Bodyworks massage in between appointments.
